ANCORD Design Corp. ("ANCORD," "we," "us") is a product design studio based in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect through our website (ancorddesign.co), how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

We comply with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

Information We Collect

When you use our website, we may collect the following:

Contact form submissions. When you fill out our contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), topic of inquiry, and message. If you indicate you have a project in mind, we also collect your project stage, timeline, and approximate budget range. If you're inquiring about a speaking engagement, we collect the event type and approximate date. We also capture the referring URL (the page you visited before arriving at our contact page) to understand how visitors find us.

How we handle contact form submissions. Submissions are passed to our internal tools through Make, an automation service. An AI model (Claude, by Anthropic) reads each submission to help us sort and prioritize inquiries. The submission and that summary are stored in Notion, our internal workspace, and shared with our team in Slack. A person reads every submission, and no decision about you is made by AI alone.

Newsletter signup. When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. Our newsletter is managed by Kit (formerly ConvertKit). You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email.

Kit records whether our newsletter emails are opened and which links are clicked. We use this to see what readers find useful.

Analytics and tracking. We use the following services to understand how visitors use our website: Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Webflow Analytics, and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel. These services may collect information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, time spent on pages, and referring URLs. This data is used to improve our website and understand our audience. We do not currently run paid advertising, but may use Google Ads and Meta advertising platforms in the future, at which point data collected by these services may be used for ad targeting and measurement.

We also use the LinkedIn Insight Tag, which collects similar information and helps us understand which professional audiences visit our site.

Cookies. Our website and the third-party services listed above use cookies and similar technologies. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect your experience on the site.

Spam protection. Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to filter out automated spam. When you submit a form, it checks signals from your browser and device to confirm you're a person.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to respond to your inquiries and assess project fit, deliver our newsletter, analyze website traffic and improve our site, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

These providers may process data outside of Canada. By using our website, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions outside of Canada, where privacy laws may differ.

Data Retention

We retain contact form submissions and client inquiry data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law. Newsletter subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained according to the default settings of each platform.

Your Rights

Under Canadian privacy law, you have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and withdraw consent for future collection or use of your information.

Children's Privacy

Our website and services are not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted information through our site, please contact us and we will promptly remove it.
