ANCORD Design Co is a sustainable industrial design studio in Victoria, BC, founded in 2018 by industrial designer Alex Nagel. The studio designs action sports equipment, outdoor gear and durable consumer products, and leads projects from research and strategy through prototyping, tooling and the first production run rather than handing off at concept. Material lifecycle, repairability and end-of-life are treated as engineering constraints from the first sketch. Clients include Burton, Anon Optics, Sonos, Samsung and Sephora, alongside founder-led brands such as Measure Me, GRBX and Wetsuit Wrench. Since 2018 he has led product design for brands you've probably heard of, Burton, Anon Optics and Sonos among them, and for founder-led companies bringing a first product to market. He is a named inventor on Canadian, US and international patents and patent applications, a mentor with the Setfire Foundation, and speaks on sustainable design and getting products made.
